How to Make Falafel Wraps

  1. Ingredients:
    • 1 cup dried chickpeas (soaked overnight)
    • 1 small onion, chopped
    • 2-3 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
    • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
    • 1 tsp ground cumin
    • 1 tsp ground coriander
    • 1/2 tsp baking powder
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • Oil for frying
    • Pita bread or wraps
    • Fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers)
    • Tahini sauce or yogurt sauce for serving
  2. Prepare the Falafel Mixture:
    • In a food processor, combine soaked chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cilantro, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms, but do not over-process.
  3. Shape the Falafel:
    • With wet hands, shape the mixture into small balls or patties. Place them on a plate.
  4. Fry the Falafel:
    • Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium heat. Fry the falafel in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Assemble the Wraps:
    • Warm the pita bread or wraps. Place a few falafel in the center, add fresh vegetables, and drizzle with tahini or yogurt sauce.
  6. Serve:
    • Roll or fold the wrap to enclose the filling. Serve immediately with extra sauce on the side.
